Five Items to Have With You at Trade Show Exhibits

Other than having your trade show booth, staff, and business cards, there are a few other things that you shouldn’t set foot on the convention floor without. Whether you are new to exhibits or have been doing it for years, these items may come in handy as you spend hours talking to people and standing at your portable displays.

Mints

With the variety of people you will get the chance to meet at the event, having fresh breath is key. Not only will it make you more pleasant to talk to, but attendees will remember the experience they had at your trade show display long after the event is over (both the good ones and the not-so-good ones). Keep mints in your pocket and avoid chewing gum at all costs because it can be unprofessional to see someone chomping on it.

Comfortable Shoes

Unfortunately, most venues have hard concrete floors. To save your feet as you are standing all day, bring two pairs of shoes: a pair of professional dress shoes and a pair of comfortable shoes. About half-way through the exhibit, change your shoes. And for the ladies, leave your high-heels at home! They may look nice, but you will regret the decision to wear them after the show. Another idea that will keep both you and your visitors happy is trade show flooring since it is padded and will add comfort to your display system. Not to mention how attractive this trade show accessory is.

A List of Trade Show Exhibit Staff’s Contact Info

Especially if you are traveling to the event, knowing how to get a hold of your co-workers or employees will come in handy. Keep a list on hand with their cell phone numbers and full names just in case you need to contact them.

Leave the Brochures at Home

You may have spent weeks designing the perfect brochure just to have it thrown in the trash. To avoid spending a bundle on something that attendees have no intention of using, use QR codes. These codes have become one of the latest trends in trade show displays. They are clearly visible on the booth and can be scanned with camera phones to take attendees directly to your website or a video you have prepared. Your audience will remember these much more than anything you have printed on paper.

A Repair Kit

If your trade show booths have been used for years, they may get damaged at some point. Bring a repair kit just in case you need to make any quick fixes. In this kit you should have double-sided tape, felt pads, markers, and stain remover just to name a few.

These are just a few of the items that may make life a little easier for you at the convention.
